We went out for some food, but took it easy on our last night in Bocas, all of us recovering from the chaos of the night before. The following day we were up early for our flight back to Panama City. David had a brief panic, when the safe in which he had his passport stopped working, but he sorted it out as I knew he would. We landed in Panama City and headed for our hostel; Selinas. Selinas are a worldwide chain of hostels with a reputation for their parties. We were nervous about what this would mean for the quality of the rooms and food, but this place was great. We all got a private room each, there was a swimming pool, 2 bars and a restaurant all on the roof. The city itself was very run down, the levels of poverty and inequality evident when walking the streets. Due to the popularity of the location, we didn’t go out on either night, as the party came to us.
The first night was very pop heavy, we danced energetically and made lots of new friends. There were a couple of hilarious groups from America, as well as some Colombians and locals. We were begged to shut up at 4am outside our rooms, as we debriefed on the jokes we had witnessed. The second night was somehow even more heavy. David was having and early one, but Henry and I went big. We hit the cocktails and partied with the more local crowd this night. When the roof party finished however, they opened a club downstairs that was previously unknown to us, and just so happened to be playing dancehall all night. We shocked out all night, and I hit my bed at around 430, to be woken half an hour later by David hammering at my door. It was time to head out for our boat trip from Panama to Colombia, the central point around which we had planned our entire trip.
